Welcome to the PLL5 PCE Day!
On Wednesday 15th May, there will be a Pre-conference Event (PCE) day. It will cover several topics including: EMPATHICS, strategies and innovations in motivation research. There will be four plenary speakers and five invited commentators. The outline of the day is below.

Morning: Tribute to Rebecca Oxford and her work
9:00 – 10:00 - Plenary by Rebecca Oxford on the topic of EMPATHICS
10:00 – 10:30 – COFFEE BREAK
10:30-12:00 - A poster session for people to share their work on the topics of EMPATHICS and/or strategies with invited commentators: Tammy Gregersen, Peter MacIntyre, Sarah Mercer, Rebecca Oxford, and Miroslaw Pawlak
12.00-13.00 - Plenary by Miroslaw Pawlak on language learning strategies

Afternoon: Methodological Innovations in Language Learning Motivation Research
15:15 – 16:15 - Plenary by Ema Ushioda on the topic of Methodological progress in motivation research
16.15 – 16.45 - COFFEE BREAK
16:45-17:15 - A poster session for people to share their work on the topics of methodological innovations in motivation research with invited commentators: Sal Consoli, Ema Ushioda, Gary Barkhuizen, Takumi Aoyama, Sarah Mercer
17:15-18:15 - Plenary by Gary Barkhuizen on the topic of narrative inquiry and motivation research
The aim of this event is to encourage interaction in the poster sessions with all participants moving around, asking questions, and commenting on the studies and work reported on. It should be an intimate, personal and highly interactive day with numbers restricted! Estimated costs for the day are €35.00. You may present in both the PCE and main conference. However, within the PCE, you may ONLY present at either the morning or afternoon poster session but not both.
