Wen Zhisheng (Edward)

Zhisheng (Edward) Wen is Professor of English and Applied Linguistics at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hong Kong, China. Prof. Wen received his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has accumulated over 20 years of tertiary teaching experience. His broad research interests are second language acquisition, task-based language teaching and learning, psycholinguistics and cognitive sciences, translanguaging and cognitive translation. He has authored and edited over 10 books and many journal special issues, published extensively in language aptitude and working memory.  Recent books included "Working memory and second language learning" (Multilingual Matters, 2016), "Researching L2 task performance and pedagogy" (Benjamins, 2019, with Ahmadian), "Cambridge Handbook of working memory and language" (CUP, 2022, with Schwieter), "Language aptitude theory and practice" (CUP, 2023, with Skehan and Sparks), "Memory in science for society" (OUP, 2023, with Logie, Gathercole, Nelson & Engle).
