Chengchen Li

Chengchen Li

Chengchen Li is Associate Professor of applied linguistics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China as well as a research fellow at the Center for Applied Linguistics, Institute of Education, University College London, UK. Her research interests include positive psychology, second language acquisition, and L2 writing. She has published widely on individual difference factors in journals including Modern Language Journal, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Language Teaching Research, System, Applied Linguistics Review, and Journal of Multilingualism and Multicultural Development. She is the author of A Positive Psychology Perspective on Chinese EFL Students’ Emotional Intelligence and Classroom Emotions (2020). She is Associate Editor of Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching (2021-2023). She has been the (co)guest editor of five special issues on topics including emotion, positive psychology, and multilingual education among ethnolinguistic minority students in China. She is Vice President of the International Association for the Psychology of Language Learning (IAPLL). She has taught Ph.D., MA, and BA courses in academic writing, psycholinguistics, and general English.
